Frequently asked questions

The short answers. Anything about your data, billing or the terms links straight to the relevant section of the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, which is the authoritative version.

How do I get started, and what devices does FitnessOS run on?

Download FitnessOS from the App Store or Google Play, create an account with your email or sign in with Google, Apple or Facebook, then follow the setup: connect Apple Health or Health Connect and log your first workout and meal. There's also a FitnessOS web app if you'd rather work from a browser. The tutorial videos on this site walk through the Free, Pro and Trainer flows.

FitnessOS is offered in the United States only, and you must be at least 13 to use it — if you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use it only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who accepts the Terms on your behalf. See Eligibility and Where the App is offered.

Does FitnessOS work with Apple Health and Health Connect?

Yes. On iOS it reads the Apple Health types you authorize — for example steps, distance, active calories, weight, body-fat %, heart rate, resting heart rate, HRV, VO2max, sleep and blood pressure — and on Android it reads the same kinds of data from Health Connect and can write your recorded workouts back. Summary values sync to your account so your dashboard and AI coach can use them; the raw read happens on your device.

If you use the cycle features, the App also reads your recent period start dates from Apple Health or Health Connect. Those are read fresh on your device each time and used in memory to estimate your cycle day and phase — the dates and the derived phase are never stored on our servers (section 2.2). You choose which types to grant and can revoke access any time in iOS Settings or Health Connect settings. Details are in Apple Health and Health Connect.

What do I get for free, and what does Pro add?

FitnessOS is free to start: you can set up your account, connect Apple Health or Health Connect, and log workouts and meals without paying. Pro unlocks voice logging, the AI coach and your daily readiness score — the Pro tutorial walks through it. Some paid features may be shown as “coming soon” and are not yet active.

Some features require a paid subscription or purchase — see how billing works.

How much does FitnessOS cost?

Starter — free forever. Manual meal and workout logging, barcode and text food search, food grades and nutrition labels, your dashboard with Apple Health or Health Connect sync, and 30 days of history. No card required.

Pro — $12.99 per month, or $69.99 per year (the annual plan saves about 55%). Adds the AI coach chat, voice logging, AI meal and workout plans, photo food scanning, unlimited history and data export.

For trainers — from $24.99 per month. Plans are bracketed by how many active clients you coach: Coach $24.99/month for up to 5 clients, Studio $59.99/month for up to 25, and Performance $119.99/month for up to 60. Paying annually gives you two months free — $249.99, $599.99 and $1,199.99 per year respectively. Trainer plans are purchased directly from this website rather than through the app stores.

All prices are in US dollars and FitnessOS is currently offered in the United States only. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time — see how subscriptions, renewals and cancellation work and our Terms of Use.

How does voice logging work?

Voice logging is a Pro feature. Tap the mic and say what you did — sets, meals and water can be logged hands-free. What we store from a voice command is the transcribed text, kept as part of your log.

If a result comes out wrong and you correct it, we store the correction (what was recognized and what you changed it to) so recognition gets better over time; see Voice input.

What is the AI coach, and what of my data does it see?

The AI coach reads your actual training and health data and adjusts your plan, rather than answering generic questions. It runs on Amazon Bedrock, an AWS service using Anthropic Claude models, and we send it the context it needs — your profile, goals, allergies, recent health metrics such as weight, body-fat %, heart rate, HRV, sleep and blood pressure, any supplements you have recorded, your cycle phase if you use cycle tracking, your nutrition and strength data, the training-context notes and recovery tags you attach to workouts, your chat messages, and — for food and equipment recognition — the photo you submit.

Amazon Bedrock does not use your data to train its underlying models, and we do not use your health, nutrition, cycle or calendar data to train generalized AI models. See AI features (Amazon Bedrock). AI output can be wrong, so verify anything you rely on.

I'm a personal trainer — what does FitnessOS do for me?

Coach accounts (what the app calls Trainer accounts) add client management: add clients, build and prescribe programs and meal plans, send intake forms and trials, track check-ins, and run your week from one calendar (you can connect Google Calendar or Outlook for scheduling).

Coaches can also connect a professional Instagram or Facebook account and answer DMs and post comments from inside the app, next to the client record they belong to — see the FitnessOS Inbox and Connected social accounts. Coaches are independent: FitnessOS does not employ, verify or supervise them, and a coach controls and is responsible for their own client records (Coaches and third-party services).

Do you sell my data or use it for advertising?

No. We do not sell your personal information, do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and never use Apple Health or Health Connect data for advertising, marketing or data mining.

FitnessOS carries no advertising SDKs or ad networks, and no third-party marketing or behavioral-analytics platforms. Two third parties do see limited technical data: Sentry receives crash reports and a short fixed list of product-usage events — an internal user ID and technical details, never your email, name, or anything you logged — and if you play an exercise tutorial, the embedded YouTube player contacts Google directly, so Google receives your IP address, which video was requested, and whatever cookies its player sets. We send Google no account, profile, health or nutrition data. See Technical and device data, Exercise demo media, and the full provider list in Where your information is stored and who processes it.

How do I delete my account and everything in it?

In the app, go to Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Delete Data. That removes your workouts and their notes, health metrics, nutrition logs, supplement history, chat history, social posts and comments, calendar connections and profile from our records, and deletes your login.

A few things are not covered: messages and intake-form responses you sent a human coach may stay in that coach's records; data stored only on your device — your GPS route history and on-device progress photos — is cleared on that device but is not affected on any other device you were signed in on; payment and transaction records held by Apple, Google or Stripe are governed by those providers; routine backups and point-in-time recovery snapshots may persist for a limited additional period; we may retain limited information where required for legal, security or fraud-prevention purposes, including the record of your acceptance of these documents; and support requests you send us are held in our support system and are not removed by account deletion — ask us and we’ll delete those too.

Full detail is in Deleting your account and data. You can also request deletion through our support page or by emailing support@iramccune.com.

How do subscriptions, renewals and cancellation work?

We disclose the price, billing frequency, term length and any trial pricing before you are charged. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until you cancel, and you can cancel any time: through your Apple ID subscription settings for App Store purchases, your Google Play subscription settings for Play purchases, or in the app at Settings, then Subscription (or by email) if you're billed directly through Stripe. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep access until then. If we increase the price, we give you advance notice; the new price applies only to renewals after the notice period, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable and partial periods are not refunded; Apple and Google purchases follow those providers' refund policies. See Subscriptions, payments, renewal, and cancellation.

Is FitnessOS medical advice?

No. FitnessOS is a consumer wellness product, not a medical device, and it does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment — that includes AI coaching output, prescribed loads, progression recommendations, nutrition targets, supplement entries and cycle-based guidance. It is not HIPAA-covered, and cycle features are for general wellness and training guidance only, never for contraception, fertility planning or diagnosing a condition.

By using the App you represent that you are in good physical health and have consulted a physician before beginning any exercise, nutrition, fasting or supplement program. Stop and seek help if you feel pain or dizziness, and call your local emergency number in an emergency. See Not medical advice and Health, safety, and assumption of risk.
